Not sure which section i should post this.
But it seems like i found a pretty decent (and CHEAP) solution for anyone who wants to add an Aux-In to their OEM radio.

This will work for anyone who has a MD/Tape unit that is unused..
Basically, I googled how to add a DIY AuxIn to various Mazda models, and here is what I found.

This owner of RX-8 added an Aux-In by soldering a RCA wire onto his CD Unit. (Slide 14, Basically that's the only slide we need)

As you can see, he soldered on the the "main unit" side (Female connector). We have the exact same connector at the same location on our MPV unit. For strange reason, our Tape unit has that Female connector as well. That's how I thought the Pin-out would be similar and I gave it a shot...

..AND IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY... NO STATIC!!!

Once you solder it, pop an empty Tape or MD .. and connect the RCA w/ your Ipod, GPS, Computer, MP3, you-name-it... and TADA!

Hope that helps anyone who wants to add an Aux-In to their OEM with less than 10$ in material.

An auxiliary input allows you to play external devices through your car radio.The aux-in line will connect to the stereo in the rear with the other stereo wiring.I'm thinking I might run the connection to the center console box.You can push the leads all the way into the connector and tape off the exposed bits, then tape all of the leads down so they don't fall out.

What if you dont have the MD/Tape unit but do have the space for one? It was an option in my model but didn't opt for it when I bought the van.

can ou switch back and forth (cd/aux) with GROM? i bought something like this but it works as an aux only after pressing CD button,thus i can no longer play my CDs Crying or Very sad

I liked Auxmod. My head unit has the Tape/MD button, but neither installed. Now pressing the button switches to my auxiliary input. There was even enough room inside to wire in a ground loop isolator.

Insert one end of the AUX cable into the AUX input on the bottom of your speaker. Insert the other end of the AUX cable into the AUX output port on your audio device.
